Inspired by Millie Moo
Inspired by our own beloved Millie Moo, an IVDD survivor, we’ve created a space that prioritises comfort, safety, and tranquillity. Her journey taught us the value of gentle handling, patience, and truly understanding the dachshund mind — and those lessons shape everything we do here.
Why Choose Us?
At Long Dog Hotel, your dachshund is welcomed into a peaceful, nurturing home where they receive thoughtful, attentive care tailored to their needs. We create a calm, dachshund‑friendly environment that suits a wide range of personalities — from confident, happy pups to those who are shy, anxious, older, or simply prefer a gentler pace.
We also have extensive experience supporting those recovering from mild to moderate IVDD, so families who need that extra understanding can feel fully reassured.
Families choose us because they want a place that feels like home, not a busy kennel. A place where their dog’s individual quirks, routines, and comfort needs are understood. A place where they can relax, knowing their pup is genuinely cared for.

Where to Start..
We Welcome
Dachshunds who enjoy a calm, home‑from‑home environment. We’re a good match for pups who are friendly, sociable, and comfortable around other dachshunds.
Older dogs, sensitive souls, and pups who prefer a quieter setting tend to settle especially well here.
We can also support dachshunds with mild to moderate mobility needs, including those recovering from IVDD, as long as they are comfortable and able to move around with assistance.
We may not be the right fit for highly active pups or dogs who need a high‑energy environment — although the occasional happy zoomies is perfectly normal. Our aim is to keep things playful but relaxed for all our guests.

What Our Families Say...
⭐ Hannah ⭐
P&D have had a trial stay with Auntie Sausage and the girls ready for a 2 week stay next year. Auntie Sausage gives the boys all the care, cuddles kisses and attention if not more than they would get at home. Its very far away for us but worth it to know our boys are in very good hands especially having an IVDD warrior that Auntie Sausage knows how to care for. Cant wait for their next stay!

⭐ Carmina ⭐
A wonderful lady who is full of love for dachshunds and especially for those who suffer with IVDD. Auntie Sausage will send constant updates and videos which are great and made me feel reassured. Her property and grounds are safe and secure. My Lupa suffers with ivdd and Auntie Sausage was totally on the ball when it came to her care in the house or out whilst walking. Lupa is also needy and anxious and again Auntie Sausage was full of warmth and cuddles. Highly recommend.
