SHORT NOTICE BOOKINGS

For first-time bookings, we require a few steps to ensure the best possible care for your dog. While we'll do our best to accommodate short-notice requests, these steps do take time, so availability may be limited. We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss your needs, and we'll do everything we can to help.

Stage 1- Your Enquiry​

​Welcome to The Long Dog Hotel! We're delighted you're considering us for your Dachshund's care. ​

​

​​To begin the booking process, please review our Essential Info & T&Cs.

​

​​

​

  • Once you've had a chance to read them, please contact us through our website with your details and as much information as possible about your Dachshund.

​​

  • We'll then contact you by text or email (please check your spam/junk folder).

​​

  • We will email you our Boarding Agreement, which includes a request for your Dachshund's up-to-date vaccination card and proof of kennel cough vaccination.

Stage 2- Meet & Greet​​​​

  • After we've received your completed paperwork and adressed any questions, we'll schedule your Dachshund's complimentary one-hour meet-and-greet. Weekday meet-and-greets are ideally arranged at 1030am, weekend appointments are often possible, subject to availability.​​

​​

  • To help you get acquainted with our facilities, we'll also send you a complimentary virtual tour video of our house and garden and a copy of our documents. You'll also receive a text message confirming your appointment time and providing directions.

​

  • This relaxed hour visit allows us to get to know your dog and observe how they interact with our team and resident dogs. You will be kept up to date with videos and asked to collect after the hour.

  • We understand you might like to see our facilities in person. However, to minimise stress and excitement for our resident dogs, especially those with IVDD, we offer the virtual video tour as an alternative. This helps us maintain a calm and peaceful environment for all our guests, and we appreciate your understanding.

Stage 3- Trial Night/Build up days/Daycare

 

Boarding

  • Following the meet-and-greet, if we believe your pup will settle well, we can proceed straight to a trial overnight stay.

  • For pups who are new to boarding or are shy/anxious, we may recommend a period of build-up-days before their trial stay. This will be discussed with you if necessary. 

​​

  • We will keep in touch with you throughout the build-up-days and trial. If your pup doesnt settle or displays any concerning behaviours, we will ask you to collect them. Please note that trial stays are non-refundable. In such cases, we will be happy to suggest other boarders who may be a better fit for your pup's needs.

  • If your pup doesnt sucessfully complete the trial stay and you have made a deposit payment to hold future holiday dates, please refer to our T&Cs regarding deposits.

Daycare

  • Following the meet-and-greet, if we believe your pup will enjoy and benefit from our daycare environment, they can start attending straightaway. â€‹â€‹

​​​​​​​​​​Stage 4- Welcome to the Family!​

  • After a successful trial stay, we're delighted to welcome you and your pup as a VIP client! You are now free to contact us direct to book future holidays or daycare.

​​

  • You will also be invited to join our Facebook VIP group.

​​

  • We strongly recommend that your holiday insurance or pet insurance policy covers any loss of boarding fees due to cancellations, regardless of the reason.​​​
