Frankie is a lovely but quite anxious little dog and particularly suffers anxiety when away from us. So we were very impressed when Lucy sent us photos and videos showing how Frankie had settled in so well. Since bringing Frankie home, we have noticed much improved behaviour in certain key areas and this is testimony to how Lucy engaged training techniques during his stay. Above all, the Long Dog Hotel is a very loving and caring environment and we are very happy to recommend and we will leave Frankie there whenever we are away. Graham

A wonderful lady who is full of love for dachshunds and especially for those who suffer with IVDD. Lucy will send constant updates and videos which are great and made me feel reassured. Her property and grounds are safe and secure. My Lupa suffers with ivdd and Lucy was totally on the ball when it came to her care in the house or out whilst walking. Lupa is also needy and anxious and again Lucy was full of warmth and cuddles. Highly recommend. Carmina

What can I say about Lucy and her care for our precious pets?! Dennis has grade 5 IVDD, is paralysed, and this has not fazed Lucy at all! Nothing has been too much trouble, and her willingness to adapt her routines, to fit in with Dennis's, has been without fault. As neighbours of the Long Dog Hotel will testify, Dennis barks SO excitedly every time we approach the gates for a visit! Jo

Lucy's love for and knowledge about the miniature dachshunds in her care is obvious from the moment you meet her. A calm and quiet environment is perfect for little sausages to relax and get used to being away from dog parents. The initial meet and greet with Millie Moo, Dolly, Lucy and Simon is a great way to break the ice and ask questions and the 2 night trial means that everyone really gets to know each other. We are so happy to have found The Long Dog Hotel and we know that Rosie will have the best time on her holiday. Sue

We were so grateful to find the Long Dog Hotel, which caters specifically for dachshunds. During her first year our little Olive had limited opportunities to socoalise due to covid restrictions. Lucy's extensive knowledge and expertise of the breed is outstanding. After meeting her, we felt completely reassured that Olive would be in safe hands. We were extremely impressed with how thorough and organised Lucy is. She provides a calm, safe and loving home for her doggie visitors. When Olive first went to stay was was timid when she initially arrived at Lucy's home. Luc's kind, gentle, patient and compassionate approach put Olive at ease. Within a short while she was enjoying socialising with the other dogs. We have already booked her in for her next holdiay knowing that Olive will be loved, happy and safe in Lucy's care.

Lucy is professional and friendly, has a real attention to detail and is clearly all about dachshunds. Her lovely home is spacious and safe, very dog friendly. Kiki has had a lovely time and it was very reassuring seeing all the cute videos. Highly recommended. Carey

Lucy is a lovely lady who provides the most loving boarding experience for dachshunds. She is so professional and takes so much care over every dog she looks after. Its alwasy hard to leave your dachshund when you go away because they are such cuddly dogs, but Lucy makes sure to give them all the affection and love they need. She keeps you updated with photos and videos during your pup's stay which reassures you that they're having a great time. I feel completely at ease leaving Bella with Lucy, i know she will be safe and well looked after. I can't recommend Lucy and her Long Dog Hotel enough!

Our little puppy Sapphy is very shy, at just over 6 months she's had little socialsation due to lockdown, and is nervous of both people and other dogs. Having experienced and knowledgeable Dachshund owner like Lucy to care for her was very reassuring. Lucy, Dolly and Millie Moo looked after Sapphy exceptionally well, we had a few photo updates during the day to show how mcuh fun she was having and by the time we got back to pick her up, i had the feeling she was have preferred to stay over with her new friends then come home! :) I would definately recommend Lucy and the team, and i am sure Sapphy will be going back soon. - Rebecca Johnson

A huge thank you to the Long Dog Hotel for taking excellent care of our Milo. It was so reassuring to get daily updates and photos as he is an anxious little boy. It was also lovely to see how quickly he warmed to Lucy, sitting on her lap wihtin a very short time even thourhg he can somtimes be rather cautious with people he doesnt know. Pablo & Diablo have had a tiral stay wiht Lucy and the girls ready for a 2 week stay next year. Lucy gives the boys all teh care, cuddles kisses and attention if not more than they would get at home. Its very far away for us but worth it to know our boys are in very good hands especialy having an IVDD warrior that Lucy knows how to care for. Cant wait for their next stay! Hannah Tacey

My 2 boys have just had their trial stay wiht Lucy, this is the first time they have stayed wiht anyone other than family. Lucy kept me updated with photos and videos, i was worried as George can be nervous around people he doesnt know but i feel totally at ease leaving them with Lucy.- Helen Thomson

Winston had his first Dachsie day care with Lucy at the Long Dog Hotel this week and had a lovely day. Can't thank Lucy enough for looking after our little chap who can be a little nervous and showing us during the day just how relaxed and happy he really was. I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy from The Long Dog Hotel. Our miniature daxie, Betty, sees it as a real sanctuary where she is stimulated, gets to meet other daxies and gets all the love and attention she deserves. We love the pictures & videos Lucy sends - we can see how much fun she has when we're not around & Lucy obviously has a natural bond with the dogs in her care. We are very lucky to have found her!
